The Bishop Paiute Tribe is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

Executive Secretary
The Executive Secretary is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the administrative office and provides high level support to the Tribal Administrator (TA) and other Managers. The position also supervises various clerical employees, as determined by the TA, in the Administration Department.

The position also monitors and coordinates the other non-clerical employees in the Administration Department. The desired education and experience is an Associate’s Degree in advanced administrative work and at least 3 years of high level clerical assignments; or, a minimum of a High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years experience in high level clerical assignments.

The salary range is $19.00 – $26.60/hr ($39,520 to $55,328 annually) and the position is exempt (no overtime).

Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Worker I, II, and IV.
These positions are being updated and the final job descriptions will be available on 2/10/12. Maintenance Supervisor – salary range is from $39,520 - $55,328, DOQ Maintenance Worker I, II, and III – The starting hourly rate will be from $15.00/hr. to $18.00/hr., DOQ This recruitment is open until filled.

TERO OFFICER
The TERO Officer administers the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) adopted by the Bishop Paiute Tribe. Responsible for establishing and maintaining public relations with civic, county and federal agencies. Promote and highlight the skills and resources of the people and Tribe; creating job opportunities through utilization and implementation of the TERO Ordinance. This is a full-time benefited exempt position with a starting wage of $19.00 per hour and appointment salary may be higher DOQ.

TRIBAL HISTORICAL PRESERVATION OFFICER
Coordinates tribal historic preservation efforts by maintaining and adhering to the requirements of the THPO grant through the National Park Service. This is a part-time 30 hours per week benefited non-exempt position with a starting wage of $18.00 per hour and appointment salary may be higher DOQ.

SURVEYING TECHNICIAN

The Surveying Technician will perform surveying and mapping duties to obtain data used for construction, mapmaking, boundary location or other purposes. This is a permanent part-time position with a starting wage of $13.81 per hour and appointment salary may be higher DOQ.

TUTOR
The Tutor will provide tutorial specific assistance to the Native American student participants of the Bishop Indian Education Center. May be assigned other related duties as necessary by the Tutor Coordinator or Education Center Director. This is a full-time benefited non-exempt position with a starting wage of $9.00 per hour and appointment salary may be higher DOQ.

TRIBAL POLICE OFFICER

Under the general supervision of the Public Safety Director, performs a variety of administrative and professional work in assuring compliance with State and Federal Law. This is an unarmed position. This is a full-time benefited position with a starting wage of $19.00 per hour and appointment salary may be higher DOQ.

Accounting Clerk |||

This position is responsible for many routine daily, monthly and quarterly responsibilities of the Fiscal Office as well as many complex bookkeeping tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records, and preparing financial and statistical reports. Applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with 3-5 years of recent accounting experience and financial reporting skills, preferable in govermental accounting, with experience in working with Native American entities, grant reporting and compliance. This is a full-time benefited position witha starting wage of $24.00 (DOE).
